Rejuvenating the Blog

It has been far too long since I've written or added any pictures. So much has happened in our household in 2008. Most importantly, the addition of our second baby boy! Lachlan is now 4 months old and his big brother is nearly 3. We are enjoying watching them grow. B-man is a proud big brother; very protective, sometimes possessive, mostly gentle, and very caring. Baby Lachs is so easy going, sleeps through the night, smiles a dimpled smile at funny voices and mommy's face in the morning. He's a very happy little guy with beautiful blue eyes.
I will try to catch up with photos of the last few months and hopefully resume my storytelling through this media they call a blog.

Arizona Christmas

We had a great time in AZ for Christmas. Here is a pic of Brodie with Uncle Ryan. Brodie had a great time enjoying the center of attention from ALL the relatives. He got WAY too many toys, filled up on LOTS of cookies and treats, and got hugs & kisses from everyone. He is definitely loved by all. Our quick trip was filled with fun - he got to make star cookies with Nana Kym, went hiking in the desert, drove his cool new jeep, shared lots of kisses with his little friend, Bella, swam in the pool, rode his big wheel, played pickle ball, chased his great-aunt's little dogs, raced cars all over grandma Becky's house, and fell in love with the movie "Jungle Book". What an adventure!

Here is a belly pic from 22 weeks prego. I'm feeling good and and feeling full after all the holiday yummies. The baby is very active now which is so much fun and makes me wonder how wild he or she will be when we meet! We had our 20 week ultrasound and got some cute pics, but I don't have a scanner to upload them....bummer. Anyway, we turned away when the tech looked "south", and she did a great job keeping it a secret from us too. We like the excitement of the good surprise on the birthday.

Thanksgiving
Hi All! We just got back from Glenwood Springs where we spent our thankgiving. We were very thankful to have that long weekend together and really enjoyed our time there. The hot springs were wonderfully relaxing as well as our long naps. Oh, how we wish we could soak in that hot water after a long day of work and unwind under the stars.....We had a turkey dinner at a place called the River which was great too. On Friday we went to the light festival and holiday program at Hotel Colorado and sang Christmas carols while enjoying hot cocoa and warm cookies. They even had 3 reindeer as part of the festivities! It was a great way to kick off the holidays....plus we ended our night with another soak in the hot springs. On Saturday we drove to Aspen only to see there was no place to park and since Brodie was napping we just turned and headed "down the hill" to Denver. We went to the Denver Aquarium to break up the ride home and saw "Nemo" and "Dory" and lots of other fishies... All in all it was a wonderful weekend!! Hope yours was wonderful too!!

First posting
Hello! We have been talking about creating a place to share info with our family and friends since Brodie came into our world and FINALLY we have done it! --All thanks to the inspiration from the Schmitz family adventures blog.
Well for those of you who have not heard, we are expecting our second baby in the beginning of May. Yeah! Brodie gets to be a big brother. We're not sure that he understands completely how his world will be rocked, but he has begun to kiss my belly and say "I love you little baby" - he speaks into my bellybutton and says "come out little baby", so it will be fun!
Talk to you soon!
